Nick Fairfax, Love To Ride NE Lincs Challenge Manager, writes:

Following an initial meeting last week we are in the process of setting up a Go-Ride Working Group to establish Go-Ride in NE Lincs. If you are interested in supporting development at one of the local Academies or GYPO please contact Dave Evans at evans.healing@ntlworld.com . For those who are able to support the project on a regular basis there is the opportunity to complete the British Cycling Level 2 Coaching Award. More detials about Go-Ride can be found below.

What is Go-Ride?

Go-Ride – is British Cycling’s development programme for young people. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills. Getting involved is easy, either with a local Go-Ride Club or through one of our many Holiday Coaching Programmes where young people will be able to sample the various cycle sport disciplines and start enjoying one of the fastest growing sports in the UK today.

For those who are already involved and want to move forwards, Go-Ride has it covered with the new Go-Ride Racing competition programme.

Go-Ride-Racing-League-560Go-Ride Racing – is British Cycling’s exciting competition programme which helps young riders make the transition from school or club coaching sessions to inter club and open regional competition. Go-Ride Racing events offer entry level, local competition for young cyclists under the age of 16. British Cycling Racing Licences are NOT required and the events are aimed at novice racing cyclists. For more information on Go-Ride Racing follow the link – A Quick Guide to Go-Ride Racing.

Note: Racing licences will be required when making the step up to regional level competitions.

Go-Ride-Young-Volunteers-560The Cycling Award for Young Volunteers – provides young people with a broad range of skills, developed across a wide range of activities. Running a club, officiating at events and an insight into coaching are all covered through a mixture of workshops and club placements. This provides young people with a great insight into how the sport operates.
